Limited Edition 2,006 pieces! In this our fiftieth year we have chosen to celebrate one of our more recent success stories, The Aviation Archive. Launched in 1998 as a small range of 1:144 scale civil and military aircraft from World War II, it quickly began to a loyal and enthusiastic collector base. In 1990, the first range of World War II fighter aircraft was launched with a Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang and Me109 in 1:72 scale. Since then the range has grown to become one of the biggest and most successful series of diecast aviation models in the world and the market leader in terms of quality and value for money. To commemorate this landmark range we have chosen to re-model those first four 1:72 scale released including the Hurricane which is beautifully re-worked on a display plinth depicting the aircraft as it would have appeared on a second World War airfield and with a figure of the pilots notes which an aircraft of this type would have carried during the war. Age 14 years +

Corgi AA36201 Gloster Gladiator MKII
On 2 October 1939, No 263 reformed at Filton as a fighter squadron. Equipped with Gladiators, it was sent to Norway in April 1940, in an attempt to give air cover for British and Norwegian forces. Operating from a frozen lake, it had all its aircraft rendered unfit for action within three days and returned to the UK to re-equip. In May, the squadron arrived back in Norway, this time further north and flew patrols until the Allied forces were withdrawn from Narvik. Its aircraft embarked on the carrier 'Glorious', which was sunk en route to the UK by German surface ships.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine canard-delta wing multirole aircraft. It is being designed and built by a consortium of three separate partner companies: Alenia Aeronautica, BAE Systems and EADS working through a holding company Eurofighter GmbH which was formed in 1986.
The aircraft has entered service with the UK Royal Air Force, the German Luftwaffe, the Italian Air Force, the Spanish Air Force and the Austrian Air Force. It is also in production for Saudi Arabia. No.3 Squadron (Royal Flying Corps) was formed at Larkhill on 13th May 1912 from Company of the Air Battalion Royal Engineers. No.3 Sqn was actually the first squadron to receive heavier than air flying machines, hence the motto Tertius primus erit meaning The third shall be the first. No.3 Sqn became the first operational front line squadron equipped with the Eurofighter Typhoon on 31st March 2006. 3(F) Sqn was declared operational in 2007
